Surface films

Class A surface finish generally refers to painted body panels characterized by a flawless and smooth aspect.

Since the harmonious surface of a car is one of the key criteria driving the final customer’s decision to purchase, carmakers are continuously searching for new Class A solutions.

In the case of composite body panels, achieving a Class A surface is more challenging than single-material metal panels, because the underlying fibrous material can easily print through the surface.

Delta-Preg has developed specific solutions for Class A body panels where in-house formulated surface films are combined with low-weight unidirectional materials or non-crimp fabrics.

Delta-Preg Class A solutions were able to pass environmental tests, such as PV1200.
